The Magnificent Seven is a movie you'd figure Hollywood would want to remake, or would have remade already. But it seems like this remake arrived at just the right time, for it truly is a remake for this time. The cast is stacked and yes diverse (so everybody calm down) In fact, I couldn't help but feel like this film was kowtowing to the SJW culture a little. Believe me, by the end you'll understand what I mean. The films PG-13 rating doesn't stop it from having a body count that nears triple figures, even if most of the kills are bloodless and involve faceless villains falling down like glorified extras on cue. The action is mostly reserved for the end though the film never drags, but seldom thrills either. An adequate effort with a more than game cast, but absolutely nothing more.
