I thought this movie was right in line with the X-Men series and they almost could have called it X-Men 4. I was a big time fan of Wolverine and I still have loads of the comics in my parents' basement. IF you care, they're all prior to the Deadpool and Wraith characters (I stopped collecting around the time Gambit came along) I can attest that the storyline was about as good as they could have made it and I was NOT impressed by the trailers. I went with the attitude "this is going to suck" but could not help but enjoy it. Jam-packed with action, but a few unrealistic or inexplicable scenes that didn't make sense but it's forgivable (find me a flick that doesn't have any!) I liked this better than X-Men 3 or 1. They did a good job of depicting Sabretooth as a real psycho. Jackman did a surprisingly good job of taking the Wolverine character to the next level. Overall the movie is a fun ride and I was surprised at how the producers & director found to present the same old action blockbuster formula in new ways.
