Kitty Foyle: The Natural History of a Woman

Ginger Rogers won an Oscar for her break from dancing and taking on this dramatic role. I'm not quite sure if the Oscar was deserved taking into account the overly stiff competition of 1940. She does give a decent performance of a working girl who aspires to more. There are a few aspects of the film I didn't particularly like especially the constant voice over which tended to bother me. Crooner Dennis Morgan is most effective as a high society man about town in an early dramatic role for him as well. The later blacklisted Dalton Trumbo delivers one of his early Hollywood screenplays with Kitty Foyle.
