Warren Beatty gets it all right as a Hollywood hairdresser to the rich and famous with a slew of important stars of the mid-seventies, LEE GRANT finally winning a Best Supporting Oscar with a tantalizing role. Julie Christie and Goldie Hawn are the two big female leads with Jack Warden in an Oscar nominated performance. Released in 1975, the hair, set design, costumes and more are really dated, but the core of the story remains relevant. The film is so seventies in terms of all that surrounds it yet what you get is way beyond a certain decade, a story that can take place anywhere amongst the privileged. A very brash film in its time with swinging Warren Beatty riding about town on his motor bike, his massive head of hair catching the breeze as he drives from appointment to appointment.
