I didn’t read Cormac McCarthy’s book, so I’m not sure if the film captured everything she intended. What I can say is that the film seemed to move along at a turtle’s pace and the only escape was a few moving and suspenseful scenes. Viggo was great as always as was Robert Duvall who only had a very small part. Post-apocalyptic tales of survival are of course dark and dreary, but at times I found the story as barren as the landscape.
