A brilliant treatment about a certain genre of character actors of famed Japanese Samurai dramas. The Uzumasa are a dying breed of sword actors who have a certain flair for dying at the hands of the hero. This movie presents us with Kamashima, an elderly expert sword actor who is in his final days of working in the Japanese film industry in Kyoto while sharing of his skill sets with a young and pretty movie extra Miss Uga. The film goes deeper and touches on how when our aged have wisdom and experience to share, and our youth have vigor and passion can connect in a beautiful way. This will appeal to foreign film buffs, and those who have a familiarity, or fondness, or an open mind for Japanese culture. A really beautiful movie.
