Congratulations to my fellow CDN, Paul Haggis. This movie is important. It would be churlish to deduct points for "coincidence" because coincidence is an element of magic which brings chrtrs together for important scenes which might otherwise have been impossible. The black actor playing the TV director was stunning - I will never forget his face during the huge confrontatio scene - as was his wife, and the younger of the street chrctrs. A few moments of sentimentality do not detract from this masterpiece. The reversal after Matt Dillon says, "You think you know who you are - you have no idea, " is the best pair of surprises, in film, during the past several years.
