A good idea, but the movie takes on way too much. TL Jones saves the witnesses, catches the bad guys, solves all the cheerleader's problems, makes amends with his daughter, falls in love, oh - and I think he had time to cure breast cancer. That is about a dozen surfacey characters whizzing across your big screen, none properly developed. And what was with the church scenes? It was just shameless standard Hollywood comical view of a stereotypical Black Church, that has been funnier in many a movie. Therefore we are tired of them, AND now realize we are tired of them after seeing it done so badly. A decent editor would have cut those church scenes, as they weren't funny and unnecessary to the whole story. Can I get an AMEN!?
