As a heterosexual male, this movie really opened my eyes to the lives of homosexuals. I walked into the movie expecting it to be a film about gays parading around each other in a sort of "in your face" way. It was quite the opposite indeed. This story touched me and I have now changed how I view homosexuals. So thank you Harvey Milk and thank you Sean Penn for portraying such an extraordinary man and opening my eyes, and hopefully the eye's of others.
