I have a habit of taking a mental break when watching a drama or mystery to try and predict the film's conclusion. Each scene here though seemed a complete entity with its own mystery, and the trauma being presented was often too real to take time off from just absorbing what I was seeing.

The two leads... Brie Larson as the young mother and unwilling captive and Jacob Tremblay (!) as her sheltered son... give formidable performances, and all other actors live up to that high standard regardless of the size of their individual roles. Director Lennie Abrahamson made the wise move of including Emma Donoghue in the construction of the film and Ms. Donoghue, original author of the novel ROOM, created the screenplay. Thus the finished screen version also pleased many fans of the Best Selling book itself.

I am wondering if my words are too complimentary. The film definitely requires a re-watch.
