Wow. I saw this movie last friday and to say the least the story is shocking. The author has studied so much Christian theology, art, the louvre musem, that at times you believe it to be the truth... the obvious conclusion to a story that just makes sense. There are no plotholes... it is not a too unbelievable script. You can picture these things actually happening... and that's both frightening and gripping for the viewer. History is not to be confused with fiction. But here the lines are so close you cannot really tell where one begins and one ends. That's a great compliment to Dan Brown... and an understatement to the book that is The Da Vinci Code. All things together, I did not really think Tom Hanks had an incredible performance on this one. His character was a little shaddy and not always believable. Ian was incredible as was Paul Bettany who totally mesmerized me in the part. Audrey Tautou was also very good. I loved the story but it's a blockbuster film not an Oscar contender... just a great entertaining, gripping thriller.
