First I'd like to thank the cinemamontreal team for the free tickets!!! Now for the movie. Well I'm not sure how to rate this movie. In the first, the lement of surprise and novelty really took us to the theme of the grudge. While effective in the second as well, it looses its feel of novelty and ultimately disappoints. The biggest downfall of the entire movie however was the ending which basically says to the viewer: You've spent 1:30 thinking that there would be an end but there isn't... everyone dies! The movie isn't all that bad however. It does bring a number of chills and frills throughout which should satisfy many horror fans. I give it a six because the horror wasn't as horrific as the first and the ending really bothered me. The acting was decent for this kind of a movie. The most compelling character was by far the young little boy jake who truly delivered performance-wise and the black-haired student (Arielle Kebbel) who looks as terrified as I've ever seen.
