"The Wolfen" is a better than average horror movie about an unseen menace that is killing derelicts and anybody else who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. With supernatural overtones steeped in Native American folklore follows a police detective played by the always great Albert Finney as he and his partner try to track down the perpetrators of these grisly murders. Whitley Streiber, who wrote the original book is the co-screenwriter and Michael Wadliegh the director of "Woodstock" very ably directs his first dramatic outing. Some very suspenseful moments and a level of eerieness permeates this little gem.
