I am a big fan of Carey Mulligan so I am always pleased to see her. The main character is a distraught young folk guitarist of the 60s much like Bob Dylan which makes sense given the synopsis. Either way, he struggles and struggles trying to find a way to succeed. Alas his struggles bear no fruit as success seems to escape him. Bad decision after another he finds himself homeless & pennyless. The irony finds Dylan towards the end clearly making his success seem so easy at the same time and same place as young Davis with a somewhat similar style though obviously unmistakably unique voice. The movie has its place yet escapes the impact I felt it should have had. Regardless, it is an insightful glimpse into what is the life of many.
