Originally, I had confused MacGruber with McBain (from The Simpsons) but then I learned that he is a character on SNL. Will Forte is the poor-man's Owen Wilson. Kristen Wiig, as his sidekick, was the funniest character. I was surprised to see how bloated Val Kilmer has now become. Only about 40% of the jokes were funny but, because an Emerson, Lake & Palmer song is used on the soundtrack, I will give it an extra point. There is nothing in this film that justifies an 18A rating; it should be only 14A.

There is no 'poor man's Owen Wilson'. Owen Wilson is the actual bottom of the heap.
