A solid 5. A very over-rated film. It is populated with interesting characters, well-acted but in predictable settings and showdowns. Very little suspense. People just show up - together - when it's time for their big scene. The main character is suddenly disposed of off-screen in a very unsatisfying way. And all of Tommy lee Jones hang dog philosophizing is wasted in a film in which the main action has zero - nada - no personal impact on him. Disappointing considering the talents of the writers.

The film was metaphoric. Obviously over your head.
