For those of you that love real martial arts movies like that of JCVD back in the late 80's and 90's, along with those that would love to see more of that MMA type action, you will be pleased. Redeemer delivers some of the best martial arts i've seen on film in a while (save the IP man series) That said, there may be some significant setbacks to making this a great film. The first is obviously the storyline, while it is not bad per say, it always revolves around the same theme and is completely unoriginal and predictable. The second is that it is in spanish, so you will need to be comfortable with the language or with subtitles. To be honest, the martial arts is so great that it will easily compensate for the subtitles. The lead actor is phenomenal and quite frankly seemed like the best actor of the cast. I hope to find him starring in more and more of these. I'll be watching. Either way, the movie offers martial arts portrayed and displayed for all to marvel at and admire, though not much else incentive for watching this picture.
