This APES reboot is interesting because, unlike the films from the late 60's / early 70's and the one from ten years ago, it gives a somewhat logical explanation as to why the simians became smart and the human population dwindled. The use of CGI created apes is a vast improvement over actors in costumes; there is no way that humans could perform the necessary acrobatics and do the complex facial expressions. What I don't like is that there is not a strong, heroic human character (like, for example, Charlton Heston was in the original)
