I have always had a fondness for thrillers where the villain is a child, as in the movies Village of the Damned, The Exorcist and, of course, the Omen series. In this film, Renee Zellweger (who is not aging particulary well and is starting to resemble the bloated Kathleen Turner) slowly discovers that her foster child is the spawn of Satan. Basically, there are not enough gruesome murders in this film, and the child does not look or act evil enough. The ending allows for a sequel, which will not happen since the opening weekend gross was a paltry $5,000,000.
