I've never seen the original "The Last House on the Left", but having heard that it was one of the most important horror films of the 1970s, I had to check-out this updated version... I wish that I did not read the description given on this website because it gives too much away... Where have I seen the actress who portrays the mother before?.. I am only giving it a 7 out of 10 because, in the final sequence of the film, the father was way too unimaginative! I can think of methods to prolong it days or weeks!
