Usually, schizophrenic psycopaths make good subjects for thrillers, drama, horror. Here you have a comedic twist on what can be a most twisted reality. While Reynold could not have played a schizo genius a la Russel Crowe in A Beautifull Mind, he gives his comedic flair for an overall very good performance that mixes well with the eccentric theme of the movie. The dark comedy works on many levels to a point where you kind of accept it as comedy, making the delusional context quite normal within the theme. Nevertheless, I can't help but feel that the movie makes light of something that is truly a devastating illness for many and that it certainly isn't something to be taken lightly. Although I consciously know that this is a movie, I would not like these dark comedies to be taken lightly or become trendy. It would send the wrong message.
