Marty (Farrell) struggles to finish his screenplay Seven Psychopaths. His best friend Billy (Rockwell), an unemployed actor and part-time dog thief, teams with Hans (Walken), a religious man with a violent past, to help by stealing a beloved dog. It belongs to Charlie (Harrelson), a psychopathic gangster who is unpredictable and extremely violent and will kill anyone linked to the theft. Marty gains focus and inspiration as long as he survives.
