One of several ( seven to be exact) versions of the Dickens classic, this faithful adaptation of the romantic melodrama falls just short of the Ronald Coleman 1935 version. A superior cast from Dirk Bogarde to Dorothy Tutin makes this a worthwhile endeavour.
