Matthew and Jared Leto are awesome in this gripping drama in those apparently horrendous early years of the aids epidemic. Both Esquires won deserved Oscars but I have to hand it to Jared Leto who completely disappears into the role of Rayon, a transgender with HIV who joins forces with Matt. It is an inspirational yet heart breaking film, a true testament of the human spirit and its capability to fight for justice against a bourgeois, hateful society who could care less about how many gays were dying. It shows the inhumanity of man as has been seen a million times through the course of history.
