Mathieu Amalric directs and stars in this tale of two married people in an adulterous relationship that is far from a simple affair, with the kinky sex and all. It goes further as the police are eventually involved. The film is based on famed mystery writer Georges Simenon and yes the audience is kept in utmost suspense, but one which is not always pleasing. La Chambre bleue is not a very appealing film with its brand of base characters that did not appeal to me.
