'L'Oro di Napoli' is such a wonderful, endearing film from Vittorio De Sica (1954) which tells many tales within the one film. The stories are simply delightful with up and coming stars of the time plus some seasoned veterans. It is a real treat to see the Sofia Loren bit in her natural Neapolitan element especially as she would be moving to Hollywood films soon after. The great clown Toto shows up as a losing card shark and a great favourite of mine, the legendary Silvana Mangano dons the persona of a prostitute. This is true comedy-drama that will touch you to the core.
