An enjoyable film if you don't look to hard to find the implausible aspects of the plot. Only if you completely suspend your disbelief can buy into the storyline which demands that you sympathize with a character with a very skewed sense of morality. Initially, the film works, but it begins to lose its way as the main character, Gerard Butler, begins to exhibit sociopathic tendencies at which point the message gets lost. Jamie Foxx is truly despicable as the morally vapid and self-righteously smug assistant district attorney. Unfortunately, his performance is depthless and his character so annoying that the movie only suffers as a result. The ending is far from satisfying and left me thinking it was all pointless. Could have been much better but not a bad popcorn flick.

Yes I couldn't get my head around the ending for the same reasons. In the movie The Dark Knight the audience was given all the tools needed to form an opinion about who to "like".. or not like... Law abiding Citizen should have listened to Heath when he said," You complete me" and perhaps have the two lead characters join forces... That would certainly be better than this ending. Nice job Crooker.
Agreed! (Couldn't have put it better)
