This is an absolute gem of a movie which is both highly enjoyable and inspirational but also important and ground-breaking. Mira Nair was perfect choice as director for which she should be nominated for an Oscar. An Academy Award nomination should be given to Lupita Nyongo as best actress (although all performances were amazing) Also this movie deserves an Oscar nomination for BEST PICTURE, because it is a fantastic Disney movie yet also so much more on numerous levels! I also loved the unique credits rolling with African cultural-rooted fashion (and music), and the real-life protagonists' updated successes! I agree with most of the 50 previous reviewers here, who mentioned all the great points about this movie. I could see Queen of Katwe 10 times more and love it and be inspired by it each time!
