The overall movie should have been so much more than what it is. A movie of suffering and inhumanity without the obvious triumph of the survivor. What there is, is well done but I found it incredible and an error to see men floating in the sea for days without any growth of facial hair. All that I knew returning from those horrible POW camps were as emaciated as the concentration camp survivors but not in this movie. I am not a fan of flashbacks, usually without rhyme or reason. I felt betrayed by the virtually total negativity without the portrayal of the positive. Don't let me influence your decision. I think The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of the 10 stupidest movies ever made and look at the recognition at the Golden Globes. Best to see the movie and decide for yourself.
