Linklater's "Boyhood"! The must-see art-film of the year! Or so you've likely been told. The truth is, it's one hell of a great film. Singular in its concept (Barring maybe the Doinel flicks Truffaut made), well acted and a veritable experience. It plays out like a Malick film with all the reverence and awe drained right out of it. Replaced with a more natural sense of people and the passage of time. Maybe a bit aloof, that's my sole problem with it. Then again, I tend to find Linklater's films objective in their framing/storytelling. All in all, definitely a must-see!. Otherwise, I mean, next time you're at a party, those film guys and gals won't let you hear the end of it.
