An exciting rebirth of the Bond franchise with a more rugged and street-born James Bond filling the movie screen. This Bond is personally troubled and lacking the refinement and sophistication of earlier versions of the British super spy. The new 007 - with his athletic frame and workman like persona - seems just right for today’s audience, and wisely, it seems, some of the baggage of the Bond legacy like martini’s - shaken not stirred - have been laid to rest. One can tell this is a modern corporate James Bond, for a spy who is licensed to kill he seems far more enamored with his Sony Eriksson cell phone than his Walther PPK. This picture has amazing locations and sets with beautiful art direction and cinematography... It all looks really fantastic. With Casino Royale, I will say the Bond formula is as potent as ever and fortified with big budget ingredients for that extra kick.
