Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

This background movie was really quite unnecessary. Simply put, it was made to explain in Star Wars IV, (the first one released) when the Rebel leader said that "this blueprint came at a great cost" when the Death Star was first revealed on the holographic imager. Sure, great detail was executed in its graphics, scenery and hacks from the attack on the Death Star itself were reused on the rebel attack of the Security Station but the dumbest bit of all, the terrible CGI cartoon of Princess Leah receiving the data records was terrible. She looked like she could have been Snow White with brown hair. What a joke. Good action and typical close calls and perfect timing to build suspense were there for the Star Wars fans but nothing really outstanding. It's no wonder the theater was only 60% full on opening night. Fun to watch but don't expect anything too new except some new alien species and aircraft. Kind of would remind you of Return of the Jedi kind of infiltration story but pleasing to the eye and dependable entertainment. Worth seeing once and then wait for it come out on broadcast or DVD. You never truly identify too much with the characters but not a bad evening out.
