This is a brooding artistic film. If you want long close-up shots of Eddie Redmayne as Lilly or shots of him posing for his wife, then you will love this movie. This film is an art piece. The colour palette, the scenes of Copenhagen are just beautiful. The acting of the actress playing his wife is amazing, in many ways more compelling than that of Eddie. This is not by any means a mainstream film. It won't appeal to the general public and has been released to capitalize on the recent surge of publicity surrounding transgenderism. It is based on one of the earliest known transitions.
