Julian Assange and his website Wikileaks leaves no one indifferent and this movie is a good reflection on the subject. Though the fundamentals of the website are fair, people running it influences its governance. The movie is based on the book written by Wikileaks’ long time contributor who got sacked when his views differed from Assange’s on publishing integral, not edited versions of what was leaked to them even though this would have deadly ripple effects. Assange’s rules were clear to the contributor from the get go. Was it nonetheless a good move from the contributor to edit the documents to spare lives? Probably but war is ugly and nasty for all sides. So, this movie does not provide you with answers but rather many ethical, regulatory and operational questions in our day and age of electronic communication and virtual connection and transactions.
