    True Grit

Young Mattie Ross certainly seemed to bring her own "True Grit" to the movie. Although I had seen the original several times over the years and enjoyed John Wayne, if this had been the original, I don't think there could have been a better choice for the part of Rooster Cockburn than Jeff Bridges. Matt Damon's character was a bit of a stick in the mud and I didn't even recognize Barry Pepper, who is under rated and should be given a lot more credit for all of his roles. Seems like so many people are complaining about the comparison between John Wayne and Jeff Bridges; get over it. Go see the movie with an open mind and you'll probably enjoy it. The ending left much to be desired, but still; well done.
