Whiplash

Those who like jazz music will love the big band sound track of this movie. Those who aspire to a career as a famous artist will either be discouraged by the efforts needed to get to their dream or double their efforts. For the parents of aspiring artists, it is a great peak at what is hidden from you by your offspring and the pressure they are willing to endure to fulfill their dreams. Movie wise, Teller and Simmons both deserve an Oscar nomination for their work, Teller for learning to drum in less than 5 months and his screen piercing sensitivity, and Simmons for being so credible in his army type character. If you liked Black Swan, you should like this movie.
