Even though we know the story, the suspense starts at the first scene and lasts till the last. The period of the cold war is faithfully recreated by the sets staging and wardrobe. Tom Hanks is very believable as the lawyer who gets the difficult job of negotiating for the exchange. His character comes to care for the two characters he is negotiating for. Mark Rylance does an excellent portrayal of Rudolph. I think both should be nominated for awards and the movie also should. This movie brings to light how the spy situation was in the cold war. There were touches of humour also. One of the best this year.
