If you read the book, you might give this movie a 10 out of 10, mainly because the book complimented the movie or the movie complimented the book, however you want to look at it. Dakota Johnson was excellent as Ana's character and while I throught Jaimie Dornan was a little thinner than I imagined Christian Grey, I reminded myself that he is only supposed to be 27. The parents of both seemed younger than I envisioned.
As far as the plot, well it's a fictional story and while a lot of women would not want to be tied up or spanked, most would agree that the attention of a young handsome billionaire that is broken, fits a lot of fantasies.
As books two and three come into play, there is a thickening of the plot that doesn't necessarily involve as much sex and it becomes very much a love story. This movie reinforced what I took from the book in that Ana is the one with all the control. Not just because she's a woman, but because everything about her has captivated a man who had never been captivated before. I can't wait for movies two and three.
