I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry

I went back and read my review of Adam Sandlers last summer picture from 2006, the dreary 'Click'. Everything I said about Click I could say again about Chuck & Larry. I had nothing good to say about the former and the same goes here. This is a poorly written, contrived, cloying piece of mushy crap. Sandler thinks his charm and good nature can overcome a weak and stupid script and its his life's mission to teach us all a thing or two about tolerance and understanding. Hey Adam, entertain your audience first, then worry about giving us a morality lesson - the other way round is a big disappointment!

Wow - you have some issues with Adam Sandler - the movie was great! A good laugh. The whole theater was laughing! I would say the audience was pretty entertained! (and yes... Click did suck)

Yes, when you read the reviews, most were throughly entertained. I guess I'm just not the market for Sandler's pictures. He seems to appeal to a younger, perhaps less discriminating audience. No problem, perhaps others of my generation will read my review and consider another movie. If not, they were warned! Ha ha...

I think you are right that this may be a generational view towards Adam Sandler. While I liked him on tv (ie SNL) I can't say the same for his movie performances. I have seen his past flicks, mostly when run on cable (and accidentally at the theatre because my buddy thought they were playing another movie with a similar title to Wedding Singer...) and do feel his performances are one dimensional and with no range. I think he's a nice guy and his humour/acting is limited to 5-10 minutes at a time... But not mean't for mainstream-lead-actor movies.. Yes, the kids (ie 30 and below) may think he's hilarious, not moi.
