Anyone who says that Woody Allen can't make movies anymore is out to lunch. I think Allen is making his best pictures now, not twenty or thirty years ago. What I like about Melinda and Melinda is the way Allen shows the viewer how he can use either comedy or tragedy to tell a compelling story. Allen knows his craft so well, with this picture he clearly shows off his creativity and prowess for filmmaking. Two stories in one picture, each only getting half the time available but both richer and fuller than many stories that dont have to compete for screen time.
