I really struggled between a 7 and an 8. I liked this movie but I felt that "something", can't articulate it was missing. This movie illustrates the impact of the civil war in Sudan on the children and their struggle to survive. It deals with aspects of war and impacts that we've all read about in the news, but couldn't truly understand. It looks at this through the lens of the children. Then it takes these young people after horrible loss to a totally different culture. Of course, movies like these don't seem to get into wide release these days. But if you've struggled to understand some of the conflicts in Africa, this is a view into them. It is fictionalized true story of something that happened over a couple of decades. Worth seeing for sure.
