    The Great Beauty

All people reflect on their life at some point or another. For the main character of the movie, Jep, this happens following his 65 birthday. His life long quest for beauty doesn’t seem to have succeeded in his eyes though he is surrounded by it. He is searching it in big and mundane events where as it often lies in more subtle things such admiring the view of the Rome Coliseum from his balcony or a flock of flamingos taking a break on his terrace. The real great beauty in this movie is the way Rome is shot and used almost as a character. I enjoyed this “Fellinesque” movie but have some reserve when it comes to recommend it to all movie goers.
