    The Motorcycle Diaries

A sentimental picture about the early adult life of Socialist revolutionary Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara. The film subtly attempts to make the case that young Che was a sensitive idealist, and his round South America motorcycle road trip with his friend helped to shape his political and social philosophies. The film requires the viewer to know something about the later life of Guevara in order to get the full impact of the story. Overall, the actors and their performances are likable and compelling, but it is Guevara’s idealism and future personal tragedy that give this movie its emotional impact.
