French philosopher René Schérer has decided to do his ABCs. From "ambiguïté" to "zone", with "cul (divin)", "émancipation" and "lenteur" along the way, the thinker embarks on the exercise with the modesty and amusement of a sage. Art, politics and human relationships are all pondered and questioned by Schérer, Éric Rohmer's younger brother. The only rule? Absolute openness. Openness to others, of course, but openness to ideas and subversion as well. The world is constantly changing. The same goes for our certainties, and only the heretic thinker, ready to challenge the status quo, can produce new ideas. It is, of course, a utopian philosophy, as Schérer himself asserts, but it's also an important and indispensable view of the world.
