This film covered a very controversial and disturbing subject. "Snuff" films are not an easy topic to digest, but they do exist and this film boldly went where no other has gone before. The movie could actually have been more terrifying, but it seems almost as though the scriptwriters were daunted by the subject matter and did not venture as deep into their psyche as they could have. Nevertheless, the film was bone-chilling and gothic. The setting was grim and the characters displayed true vulnerability. No superheroes here, just ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances. That is what made this film more horrifying than most. This motion picture shows the viewer what regular people are capable of, both good and evil. I only wish the producers hadn't "pulled any punches" when they put this film together. I dare say it would have made "The Exorcist" look like a "Mickey Mouse" cartoon.
