At first glance, a musical nun, a protector of abandoned animals who loves remote-controlled airplanes, a painter, an antique dealer specializing in French-Canadian furniture who loves fly fishing, and a retired farmer seem to have little in common. But look again. These are people who have retired from work but remain passionate about life; they don't let aging bring them low and they won't take death lying down. It doesn't matter that they're unacquainted: the filmmaker ties their individual stories so tightly together that their lives seem to blend and interweave. We follow along, becoming as excited as the filmmaker about the unexpected relatedness of human lives that seem so far apart at the start. Filmed in the spirit of direct cinema, this is a film that delights in exploring the human heart.
