Always 三丁目の夕日'64

A nostalgic look at the time leading up to the 1964 Olympics. Drama and humour unfold as two households in Tokyo face arriving changes and prosperity in Japan, as well as challenges of their own. The film focuses on the blue-collar Suzukis, who run a small car repair business, and the Chagawas, who run a sweet shop and hope to send their son to university. Chagawa Ryunosuke, who also writes adventure serials, is under pressure, as his publisher considers switching to the popular, new manga style. Mutsuko Hoshino, a young female mechanic at the Suzuki family's auto repair shop, sometimes hangs around the street corner, in hopes of "accidentally," bumping into a young doctor she likes.
