Based on a compilation of true events and uniquely told in American Sign Language (ASL), spoken English and Italian, the film depicts the impact of child abandonment and long-term foster care, the pursuit of family, intimacy, and acceptance, and the importance of honest communication in relationships. It is cross-genre art film about a pained Jennifer Anderson's passionate and tumultuous journey to find her birth parents. After receiving a lead to her parents' whereabouts, Jennifer takes actions that inadvertently causes heartbreaks and relationships to implode into a crime-of-passion that demands an investigation by the famously meticulous and no-nonsense Detective Simon Willis of the Sign Language Police Department (SLPD).
