I knew nothing about Amy Winehouse before the movie, so it was fresh for me, nothing repetitive. I felt that the Doc was too long, too many photographs of her floating around the screen, too many shaky videos. I get it, they were trying to show what it was like in her mind. It was annoying. Your typical sad story of a talented, troubled young star that was surrounded by people trying to take a piece. Mind-blowing talent. The tragic ending immortalized her, where I think she would have had mediocre success in the future and would have been able to do the smaller clubs like she wanted. The music was great, lots of footage, lots of the real Amy. A must see for the fan, but maybe pass on it if jazz isn't your thing. A few people walked out, I was kind of forcing myself to stay. Paint by numbers ending.
