An absorbing movie from the nature of the animated puppetry. The character, however, was a cliche, a depressive white male amid a mid-life crisis. The female characters get the short shrift - all, apparently, easily drawn and enticed by our Michael, despite his being presented as a boring, lifeless drone who only comes alive when he meets a 'different' woman for the first time, becoming critical and bored again soon after. I did like the metaphor of one character for all the other roles, which would indeed be depressing if that's all I was capable of seeing in those around me. But that's a simple theme.
